“Millie’s Diary” is finally live!
This past year, I made a resolution to keep a journal because I wanted a way to permanently capture life’s fleeting moments. I realized how quickly time flies and how life, for me, runs so fast that I sometimes overlook, forget, or fail to reflect and appreciate life’s every moment. Often, it’s only after I talk with my mother, who has an impeccable memory, that I realize I’ve lost so many beautiful memories and their details, all because I was too busy trying to get to the next assignment, the next meeting, and the next thing I should be doing in life.
And I didn’t want to continue living that way. I wanted to be able to remember, relish, and reflect on all the places I’ve been, the people I’ve met, and the things I’ve done, no matter how spectacular or mundane. So I started journaling, and over the course of this past year, I’ve filled up an entire two and a half journals with stories of both my everyday life and my crazy adventures as a 22 now 23 year old.
As 2017 ends and 2018 begins, I still intend to journal, but I’ve decided to switch up the format and add drawing into the mix. Art has always been a passion of mine, and I thought it would inspire me to look at my life from a fresh and fun angle.
And with that, thanks for stopping by my blog and checking out this post, which contains my very first cartoon exploring the blessings and problems that arise from having a sweet tooth during the holiday season. Enjoy!
